EMDR Intensives in San Diego for Perinatal Trauma Healing and Virtually Across California and Arizona

Sometimes the path to healing requires more than an hour a week

Sometimes healing requires more than an hour a week

When trauma runs deep, whether it is birth trauma that still takes your breath away, childhood wounds that surfaced when you became a mother, or the complex grief of fertility struggles, weekly therapy can feel fragmented. Just as you are settling into the work, the session ends and the momentum is lost. For those navigating postpartum anxiety, postpartum depression, or the lasting impact of a traumatic birth in San Diego, the weekly therapy model often cannot keep pace with what you are carrying. EMDR intensifies offer a different path.

My weekend EMDR intensives take place in my centrally located San Diego office or virtually anywhere in California or Arizona. As a PMH-C certified perinatal therapist, I offer concentrated trauma processing designed specifically for the perinatal journey, including birth trauma, postpartum anxiety and depression, pregnancy loss, and NICU experiences.

This is not about rushing your process. It is about honoring it. It is about giving your trauma the dedicated time and attention it deserves to be witnessed, processed, and integrated.

What to expect

Before We Begin

We start with a 60 to 90 minute preparation session to ensure you feel ready and supported. During this time we clarify your goals, identify the memory or theme you want to focus on, and establish personalized safety protocols that honor your unique perinatal experience.

Weekend Intensive

The core work takes place over two consecutive four hour sessions, typically Friday evening and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday. We work with one specific experience such as a birth trauma, pregnancy loss, NICU stay, or postpartum event and move through all phases of EMDR including stabilization, reprocessing, and integration. Mindful breaks are woven throughout the intensive to support rest, reflection, and nervous system balance.

Integration Support

About one week after your intensive, we meet for a 60 minute integration session to help your system continue processing, deepen insights, and ensure you leave feeling grounded, steady, and complete in your healing process

Why one trauma focus?

One Step at a time

During an intensive we intentionally focus on one central experience rather than trying to process everything at once. This allows your mind and body to stay fully present and move through a complete healing cycle without becoming overwhelmed or scattered.

In perinatal work, one experience often holds threads that reach into many others. A birth trauma may touch old feelings of powerlessness. A miscarriage may reawaken grief from earlier losses. By tending to one focal point with tenderness and precision, the healing often ripples outward into many areas of life.

Focusing deeply on one trauma is not about minimizing everything else you have lived through. It is about honoring the depth your healing deserves, one meaningful step at a time.
